Public Policy Analysis-Geology Major

All courses in the major taken after the first year must be for a letter grade with the exception of course or any course in a concentration designated Pass/No Pass.

Requirements for the Major in Public Policy Analysis-Geology

1. Three-course public policy sequence: course Principles: Macroeconomics, course Principles: Microeconomics; course Intro to American Politics or course Intro to Public Policy Analysis.

2. Statistical/Quantitative Methods course: course Calculus 1

3. Two policy electives selected from these courses: course California Politics and Policy, course Politics of Immigration and Citizenship, course Campaigns and Elections, course Politics of Race and Ethnicity, course Policy Implementation and Evaluation, course Research Design: Politics and Policy, course Education Politics and Policy, course Poverty and Income Distribution, course International Economics, course Natural Resource Econ and Policy, course Environmental Economics, course Energy Economics and Policy, course Economic Analysis of Politics, course Analysis of Public Projects: Benefits and Costs, course Economic Methods for Public Policy Analysis, course Physics in Society: Energy Policy, GOVT100 CM Policy Lab, GOVT105 CM Org Health Care/Pub Pol. From time to time, the college welcomes different faculty and instructors who may offer courses that satisfy this requirement. When these opportunities arise, the PPA program will notify all major students of their availability.
