Quantitative Environmental Analysis

Students learn to use mathematical tools and techniques to understand the real-world processes and implications of environmental problem-solving and decision making; apply mathematical and statistical models to clarify and respond to environmental issues; and read, critically evaluate, synthesize, and analyze a range of issues based on data and literature in the mathematical sciences.

Course Requirements (12 or 13 Courses):
Students must complete the core courses, EA 010 PO or EA 010 PZ , EA 020 PO , and EA 030 PO or EA 030E PO and one senior capstone course (EA 190 PO or EA 191 PO ). In addition, EA-Math majors are required to take the following courses:
For students pursuing depth in statistics and/or modeling, four from:
- MATH 151 PO , MATH 152 PO , MATH 154 PO , MATH 155 PO , MATH 156 HM , MATH 158 PO , MATH 160 CM , MATH 165 HM , MATH 180 PO , MATH 181 PO , MATH 183 PO , MATH 186 HM , MATH 187 PO , MATH 188 HM
For students pursuing applied mathematics in quantitative fields, two from the previous list and three from one the following sub-concentrations:

- Math and Economics
- Math and Geology
