Dance Minor

Requirements for the Performance Emphasis:

1. One full credit, intermediate level or above, of Modern Dance Technique (DANC 050 PO , DANC 119 PO , DANC 120 PO , DANC 121 PO  or DANC 122 PO ); may be taken in increments of one-quarter or one-half courses.
2. One full credit, intermediate level or above, of Ballet Technique (DANC 051 PO , DANC 123 PO  or DANC 124 PO ); may be taken in increments of one-quarter or one-half courses.
3. DANC 130 PO , or DANC 103 SC .
4. One full credit of Composition or Repertory (DANC 140 PO , DANC 180 PO , DANC 181 PO  or DANC 159 SC ).
5. Dance History (DANC 135 PO  or DANC 101 SC ).
6. One additional full course in theatre or dance.
7. One crew assignment.

Requirements for the Movement Studies Emphasis:

1. At least one full credit (or the equivalent) in Modern Dance and/or Ballet Technique

2. Language of the Body (PO Dance 130) or Scripps Laban Movement Analysis (SC Dance 103)

3. Anatomy and Kinesiology (PO Dance 160)

4. Full course or the equivalent in somatics studies (PO Dance 165, 166, SC 102, 114A, 114B)

5. Full course or the equivalent in Alexander Technique (PO Dance 175, 176)

6. The Mind in Motion (PO Dance 170)
