In this course we will use economics to understand the history and development of México. We will divide the course’s material into four eras roughly corresponding to New Spain, Reform and Porfiriato, Post-Revolution and Industrialization, and Modern Mexico. This course will be taught in Spanish as a part of Pomona’s Faculty-Led Study Abroad Program, and residency will be equally divided between Mexico City and Oaxaca. Satisfies the following General Education Requirement(s), subject to conditions explained in the Degree Requirements section of this Catalog: Area 2
