Coinciding with the pivotal election year of 2024, students will examine, research and create persuasive communications which may include fashion, textiles, tracts, memes, and other forms of artwork or propaganda, both physical and digital. Texts, films and discussion will examine historical examples and inform projects. The course will be collaborative and discussion-based; projects will be thoughtful and may involve public engagement. We will learn and experiment together, creating a space for courageous discussion and practice during an uncertain and historic time. This is a studio class which includes reading, discussion, and making.
