As the foundation for training, students will learn fundamentals of self-defense which will include blocks, strikes, and kicks, with an emphasis on practical and common-sense self-defense applications. This includes body movement, footwork, evading/escaping and joint locks/manipulations. Pads will be used to augment kicking & striking techniques. The class will be safe, engaging, challenging and fun. Self-defense videos are part of the curriculum to enhance your overall knowledge and mental awareness. Satisfies the following General Education Requirement(s), subject to conditions explained in the Degree Requirements section of this Catalog: Physical Education
