This seminar course will examine the interaction of psychology and the law. It will explore the scientific knowledge that clinical psychologists bring into the courtroom. In addition, the legal standards that govern the admissibility of psychology expert testimony and define the adjudication of these issues will be critically examined, and the policy implications of modifying the governing legal standards and the scope of psychological research will be discussed.
