Topics include the bases for international trade in comparative advantage and economies of scale, foreign direct investment, immigration, trade policies and related political economy issues, foreign exchange markets, balance of payments accounting and the national income and product accounts, macroeconomic policies in an open economy, monetary union, international monetary systems, and financial crises.
