This seminar connects students to the history of the border between Mexico and the United States. The readings and discussion examine the historical formation of the border, its evolution over time, as well as its contemporary political economy, all with a focus on the ways it shapes the lives and experiences of Latin Americans and other hemispheric migrants, both now and in the past.
