A history of the idea of Christian sanctity from the 1st to the 13th centuries. The readings, primarily saints’ lives, shed light on how Christian perfection as an idea evolved over the course of Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages and how this evolution reflected fundamental changes in the social historical context over this same period.
