A survey of the formation of stars and planets in the universe, the galactic interstellar medium and the theoretical and observational aspects of understanding the conditions and evolution of matter in the galaxy. Half-course. Prerequisites: PHYS 101 PO , MATH 060 PO and ASTR 001 PO or ASTR 062 PO and PHYS 101 PO . Offered jointly with HM and Joint Sciences. Spring 2008; offered alternate years.”
