'Digital storytelling' is the practice of everyday people who use digital tools to tell their stories. This course introduces students to the craft of documentary-digital storytelling through oral history and public history with focus on Chicanx/Latinx communities. In addition to readings and research on Chicanx/Latinx histories, students will learn to transform testimonios into a compelling and emotionally engaging format. Class participants will develop a documentary treatment and collaboratively create a quality short film trailer to screen at an academic venue by the end of the semester.
