Requirements for a Minor in Music
The Music minor encompasses the following coursework.
Four semesters of applied study. Students may fulfill this requirement through repetition and/or combination of any of these lessons-courses: course, course, course, course, course, course or course.
Two course credits earned over a minimum of four semesters in Pomona College music ensembles, e.g. Choir (course), Orchestra (course), Balinese Gamelan (course), etc. Students may fulfill this requirement through repetition of the same ensemble course or through combination of different ensemble courses.
Five 1.0-credit Pomona College Music Department courses (i.e., courses with PO in the catalog number).
All courses required for the Music minor that are offered for a letter grade must be taken for a letter grade. In general, academic work completed on study away, at one of the other Claremont Colleges, or at another institution, does not fulfill the minor requirements. Students desiring an exception should petition the Music Department in advance.
