Asian Studies Minor

Requirements for a Minor in Asian Studies

The Asian Studies Minor requires the student to select an area emphasis (e.g., a country—China, Japan, Korea, India, etc.—or region—East, Southeast or South Asia). Six courses are required, distributed as follows. All courses must be taken for a letter grade to count toward the Asian Studies Minor.

1. Four courses must be in a selected area.
2. Two courses must be on Asia but outside the selected area.

Chinese, Japanese or Korean language courses at the fourth semester level or higher may be counted towards a minor.

Asian studies minors are asked to submit a proposed program of study to the coordinator of the program no later than the fall semester of their senior year.
