Linguistics Major

The Linguistics major requires either a senior thesis or passing a comprehensive exam. The senior thesis is a two semester course normally taken in the fall and spring semesters of the senior year. Senior thesis project proposals are evaluated by the faculty at the end of the first semester of the senior thesis course and, if approved, are to be completed in the following semester. The comprehensive exam may be taken in either semester of the senior year. Upon declaring the major, students should find a linguistics advisor.
