This course examines how globalized structures of economy and politics shape our lives, and the new forms of cultural connection and community that globalization offers us. Topics include relations of production and consumption, transnational and national governance, civil society, the colonial legacy, wealth stratification, digital technology, and the global flow of people and culture.
