This seminar will explore psychological perspectives on the human causes and consequences of climate change, with an emphasis on the application of behavioral science theories and methods. Topics will include psychology of risk perception, uncertainty, and decision making; social psychological perspectives on the political divide, cooperation, and collective action; cross-cultural perspectives; impacts of climate change on inequality and social relations; and the use of psychology to inform climate science communication and increase public engagement.
