Intensive study of Geoffrey Chaucer’s fourteenth-century Canterbury Tales. Advanced analysis of the poem, research into its modern interpretations, introduction to Middle English. Chaucer’s poem will also serve us as a master text as we inquire more generally into the intellectual culture of the Middle Ages. With special emphasis on the dirty jokes.
