This course will focus on the biology of the nervous systems of vertebrates and invertebrates with a cellular, molecular and electrophysiological approach. We will examine the ionic basis of electrical signaling in excitable cells, the physiology and biochemistry of synaptic transmission, the molecular mechanisms of learning and memory and selected hot topics in the field.
