Introduction to Afro-Cuban drumming with emphasis on the music of the polytheistic tradition known as Santería. Students learn to play different rhythmic patterns on a variety of drums and other percussion instruments and to sing traditional songs. Participation in an end-of-semester public performance is required. Spring semester only. P/NC grading only.
