A survey of Mediterranean history from the first through the fourteenth centuries, focusing on the close interaction between the Latin, Greek, and Arabic worlds. Special attention will be paid to how Jewish, Christian, and Muslims scholars dealt with the legacy of ancient Greek and Roman political ideas. Letter grade only.
