Examination of large-scale structure of the universe and evolution of the universe from Big Bang to present epoch. Topics include alternate cosmologies, dark matter, cosmic background radiation and formation and evolution of galaxies and clusters of galaxies. Half-course. Prerequisites:PHYS 101 PO and either ASTR 051 PO or ASTR 062 PO , or permission of the instructor. Offered jointly with Harvey Mudd and Joint Sciences.
