This course focuses on Japanese in a variety of media: TV programs, cinema, documentaries and animation, as well as print media and online materials. The goal is to cultivate the listening and reading comprehension necessary for today’s fast-paced communications. There will be a routine dictation and writing of summaries of the audio-visual and printed materials. Another requirement for each student is the production of a short documentary video, narrated by that student. Prerequisites: JAPN 111B PO or equivalent. May be repeated twice for credit.
