A thorough examination of issues and features in language design and implementation, including language-provided data structuring and data-typing, modularity, scoping, inheritance and concurrency. Compilation and run-time issues. Introduction to formal semantics. Letter grade only. Prerequisites: CSCI 052 PO , CSCI 062 PO , and CSCI 081 PO (or the CMC equivalents); or CSCI 060 HM , CSCI 070 HM , and CSCI 081 HM .
