Explores the neural basis of human social interaction. Emphasis will be placed on the social neuroscience literature investigating social, environmental evolutionary and cultural influences on human brain processes. Topics include attachment and love, attitudes, emotions, empathy, health and stress, mentalizing, moral reasoning, violence, concepts of the self and stereotyping. Prerequisite: PSYC 051 PO or permission of instructor. Letter grade only. Satisfies the following General Education Requirement(s), subject to conditions explained in the Degree Requirements section of this Catalog: Area 2
