An introduction to electricity, magnetism and waves, as summarized in Maxwell’s equations of electricity and magnetism. Emphasizes the concepts of electric and magnetic fields and their interactions with charged particles, ultimately leading to the great synthesis of electricity, magnetism and light. Prerequisites: PHYS 070 PO and completion of/or concurrent enrollment in one of the following: MATH 030 PO , MATH 031 PO , MATH 031H PO , MATH 031S PO , MATH 032 PO or MATH 032S PO . First years only; others only with permission. Half-course. Satisfies the following General Education Requirement(s), subject to conditions explained in the Degree Requirements section of this Catalog: Area 4
