An introduction to the methodology and tools which are vital to the researcher in both the sciences and social sciences. Introduction to probability; binomial, normal, t and Chi-squared distributions; testing hypotheses; confidence intervals; analysis of variance; and regression and correlation analysis. Concepts will be applied to current data using statistical computer software. Prerequisite:MATH 029 PO or MATH 030 PO or MATH 031 PO or MATH 032 PO or MATH 060 PO or satisfactory score on placement examination. Not recommended for students who have taken AP statistics.
