This course focuses on a variety of ethical issues that arise in contemporary medical care. Topics vary but can include: the permissibility of abortion, stem cell research, euthanasia, patient consent, conscientious objection by healthcare providers, embryo selection and donation, epistemic injustice, healthcare rationing, as well as interpretations and implications of the phrases "health," "disability," "enhancement" and "best interests of the patient."
