GIS (Geographic Information System) is an analytical computational tool widely used within the social and natural sciences that enhances our ability to investigate geospatial and geotemporal problems at a wide variety of scales. In this class you will [1] obtain an introduction to the fundamentals of GIS analysis and [2] gain experience integrating these skills and using them to explore an array of geologically-relevant questions. Letter grade only. Prerequisites: Any introductory geology course (GEOL015-025 or EA 055L KS or EA 100L KS) or permission of instructor.
