Statistical Thinking

Course Title

Statistical Thinking

Description

The application of statistics to real-world problems goes beyond the application of formulae to a body of data. Statisticians become involved in research problems at the initial stages of formulating the hypotheses to be addressed, and continue their involvement through the design and presentation of the results. This course exposes the student to the complete spectrum of activities in which a statistician is involved. Many topics from introductory statistics will be covered including conditional probability, sampling, hypothesis testing, and ethical reporting. Not intended for students with prior statistics background.
