This course will focus on the biology of the nervous systems of vertebrates and invertebrates with a cellular, molecular and electrophysiological approach. The ionic basis of electrical signaling in excitable cells, the physiology and biochemistry of synaptic transmission, the molecular mechanisms of learning and memory and selected topics in the field. Prerequisite: NEUR 101 PO . Previously offered as BIOL178 PO.
