Study of J.S. Bach and of his instrumental and vocal music. Emphasis on the Brandenburg Concertos, the Mass in B Minor and Bach’s keyboard works. Examination of performance issues, with emphasis on the keyboard instruments he knew (notably harpsichords and organs). Discussion of the critique made of Bach’s music by composers, performers and historians.
