An introductory survey to the historical experiences of Chicanx/Latinx peoples in the United States, including Mexican and Puerto Rican diasporas, as well as South and Central American migrations. Exposes students to historical methods and analysis through topics like migration and settlement; community and identity formation; and the roles of races, gender, class and sexuality in social and political histories. Culminates in a public research project. Letter grade only. (Core course, United States)
