A dynamic, hands-on introduction to the materials and equipment of lighting for the theatre and related forms. The course focuses on light and electricity, lenses and reflectors, instruments, lighting systems and intensity control. The course also features an exploration of cutting-edge lighting, including the newer generation of computer control consoles, LED instruments and intelligent fixtures. Production lab work is required.
