This course offers opportunities for community-engaged learning or participatory action research related to Latin American immigration. Each semester, students will choose a community partner, complete 2 hours a week of service, and will collaborate with a community partner to write an end of term policy paper or report that can benefit advocacy efforts. Additionally, students will engage with the principles of social justice and collaborative leadership through critical reflection within the classroom through readings that tackle immigration histories, policies, and immigrants' rights activism. Letter grade only.
