An introduction to the methodology and tools vital to research in the biological and health sciences and medicine. Topics include probability, distributions of random variables, testing hypotheses, confidence intervals, analysis of variance, regression analysis, odds ratios, sensitivity and specificity; and nonparametric methods. Concepts will be applied to current data using statistical computer software. Prerequisite: MATH 029 PO  or MATH 030 PO . Not recommended for students who have taken AP statistics.
